1. 13th International Chess Festival CZECH OPEN 2002:
11.-28.7. 2002 Pardubice (Exhibition and social centre IDEON)
13 open tournaments: A) grand master tournament (possibility to fulfil GM and IM norms, with rating for ELO FIDE) - 9 rounds, B) rating tournament (with rating for ELO FIDE) - 9 rounds, C) performance - 9 rounds, D) amateur - 9 rounds, E) 4-member team tournament (with rating for ELO FIDE), F) 4-member team tournament of youngsters up to 16 years of age, G) active chess, H) blitz marathon, I) blitz chess tournament, J) rating tournament (with rating for ELO FIDE) - 7 rounds, K) problem solving competition, L) bughouse and M) Fischerandom chess
 
2. International Rating Chess Tournaments:
features common for all tournaments:
- locality and playing time have been chosen so that participants could plan also a rich non-chess programme with an opportunity to conceive the tournament as family holiday
- open tournaments with rating for ELO FIDE
- 9 rounds by Swiss system, 1 double round, speed 2h/40 + 30 min (Olomouc 2h/40 +1h)
- possibility of participation without age and performance limitation
- possibility of accommodating accompanying persons at basic price reduced by 20 EUR compared with that of players
- players without accommodation pay starting fee 30 EUR
- accommodated IM and WIM have 20% discount on basic price, non-accommodated do not pay starting fee
- discount of 10 EUR for FM, WFM and players with ELO over 2300
- prize fund of each tournament 20.000 CZK (Olomouc 30.000 CZK, Prague 30.000 CZK), material prizes for best seniors
- prize fund of the whole series 20.000 CZK (7000, 5000, 3000, 2000, 1000, 1000, 500, 500), criteria used for ranking: the highest total of points gained in individual tournaments (from the festival CZECH OPEN the highest point result gained in tournaments A,B,C,D or J is counted, best places in one of included tournaments, lot
- possibility of lunch and dinner purchase at price from 2 to 5 EUR according to place of tournament
- 5% discount on accommodation prize and starting fee in 2nd start in the tournament held within the frame of this year, or 10% in 3rd start, 15% in 4th start and 20% in 5th start, on the understanding that participation at the festival CZECH OPEN 2002 is counted as 1 start as long as the player took place in it at least one of tournaments A,B,C,D or J
 
1.-8.8. 2002 5th OPEN OLOMOUC (the Sigma Hotel)
- Olomouc is a regional city with more than 100.000 inhabitants with rich possibilities of social and sports self-realization. In the town and its surroundings there is a wide range of tourist attractions: historical centre, Svaty Kopecek Hill, open-air museum, caves, ZOO, castles and chateaux etc.
- tournament is linking up well with Pardubice CZECH OPEN and it is possible to book accommodation in the period between the tournaments
- at the same time also closed tournaments will be played with possibility to fulfil IM norm and open international tournament of youngsters in the category up to 18, 16, 14, 12 and 10 years of age
- basic price of 120 EUR includes accommodation at the Sigma *** hotel, where the playing hall is situated (1 bed and breakfast in a 2-bed room with bathroom and WC/7nights) and starting fee, additional charge for 1-bed room 35 EUR/7 nights
- the lowest price of 55 EUR when accommodated at a hostel* garni (Internat SOU stavebni) in a 2-bed room, bathroom and WC on the same floor, without breakfast, at a distance of 2 km from the playing hall
 
20.-27.9. 2002 2nd OPEN ZNOJMO (the Dukla hotel)
- Znojmo is a district town with nearly 40.000 inhabitants, its historical centre is a place of town conservation of historical monuments, situated in the wine-growing region near the national park of Podyji, there are wide opportunities of hiking and cycling, in close neighbourhood there is a lot of castles and chateaux
- basic price of 115 EUR includes accommodation at the Dukla*** hotel, where the playing hall is situated, (1 bed and breakfast in a 2-bed room with accessories/7 nights), starting fee, additional charge for 1-bed room 25 EUR/7nights
- the lowest price when accommodated at the Dukla hotel in a 2-bed room with accessories on the floor, without breakfast
 
17.-24.10. 2002 3rd OPEN CZECH MOUNTAINS (Bedrichov town in the Jizerske mountains, Holiday resort "Bila vrana" )
- Bedrichov town is a mountain resort in the Jizerske mountains, situated between towns Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou (connection by city bus), participants can use their free time for mountain tourism and cycling, parking place, table tennis, bowling alley and billiards are available here, there are also modern roofed aquaparks in Liberec and Jablonec
- basic price of 115 EUR includes accommodation at the "RS Bila vrana" **, where the playing hall is situated, (1 bed in a 2-bed room with accessories/7 nights, inclusive breakfast), starting fee, additional charge for 1-bed room at the luxury guest house Serpentino *** (100m from the playing hall) 80 EUR/7nights
- the lowest price 70 EUR when accommodated at the mountain chalet "U Kacaka" * in 2-bed room with accessories on the floor with breakfast (300m from the playing hall)
- possibility of ordering transport by coach from Prague
 
17.-24.1. 2003 2nd OPEN PRAHA (the Tourist hotel)
- Prague as the capital of the Czech Republic with more than 1.000.000 inhabitants offers a vast range of social and culture self-realization, the hotel is situated in Prague 5 - Jinonice, the travel to the city centre by city bus takes at the most 30 min., parking in the parking lot is free of charge, in the parking garage 100 CZK/a night, near the hotel there is a swimming pool and billiards centre
- possibility to fulfil IM norms
- basic price of 140 EUR includes accommodation at the Tourist hotel **, where the playing hall is situated, (1 bed and breakfast in 2-bed room with accessories common for 2 rooms/7nights) and starting fee, additional charge for 1-bed room 50 EUR/nights
 
25.1.-1.2. 2002 2nd OPEN MARIANSKE LAZNE (the Evropa hotel)
- Marianske Lazne town belongs to the most beautiful and largest health resorts in the Czech Republic, offering rich social and sports self-realization, near the town there is a ski area with two ski tows and 30 km running routs, transport from the town by cableway, participants can use their free time for the spa therapy, for example ailments of the respiratory system, movement mechanism, nerves, kidneys and urinary tract and urologic problems and female disorders are treated here
- tournament is linking up well with OPEN PRAHA
- at the same time closed tournament with possibility to fulfil IM norms is also played
- basic price 160 EUR includes accommodation at the Evropa** hotel (in the centre of the town),
where the playing hall is situated, (1 bed in a 2-bed room with accessories/7 nights, breakfast) and starting fee, additional charge for 1-bed room 25 EUR/7nights
- the lowest price 80 EUR when accommodated at the Kossuth hotel in a 2-bed room, bathroom and WC on the same floor, without breakfast (500m from the playing hall)
